The founder Jan Kielman was first in the family to leave home and travel to Warsaw. Then he took a job in one of Warsaw's many shoemaking workshops. After three years, he received the title of master and open his own workshop.
In 1921, Kielman received an order from Charles De Gaulle to make a pair of officer's boots for him. After that bootmaking became part of the business as well. Two big wars were made difficult for the store but Jan II in the end became a successor and passed on to his son Maciej . It led the company to expand into new areas of activity by joining of Maciek.
Jan Kielman is a company that is protected from generation to generation.
