Yohei Fukuda

Founded 2008 in Japan
Based in Tokyo

Yohei Fukuda is one of Japan's leading bespoke makers. He started his shoemaking career with studies at Tresham Institute in Northamptonshire, England, and practicing with well-known English makers such as John Lobb Paris, Edward Green and Church's. After graduating, he did shoe repairs for G.J. Cleverley and bespoke work for Edward Green.

After returning to Japan, he established his own brand Yohei Fukuda. His motto is "If I were the customer" - in other words, he puts himself in the customer's shoes. He has made bespoke shoes for many celebrities, athletes and other prominent figures. His shoes are exquisitely sleek with narrow, bevelled waists and are made with painstaking attention to detail.
