"The real McCoy" is an idiom and metaphor used in much of the English-speaking world to mean "the real thing"
and that is what this clothing brand wants to produce to say the least. To many the outdated features of vintage clothing have little significance in today's modern society, but this is exactly what influences the brand. They painstakingly reproduce garments from the rich history of mid 20th century American army- and workwear. Nearly every single fabric, button, tag, and thread of these garments has been custom made to meet the spec of the original as they no longer can find quality that get even close to their standards.
Highly skilled Japanese craftsmen are manufacturing materials using the same methods and machinery from the past. Whilst they endeavour to create the very best reproduction, they also seek to make it even better than the original.
In addition to producing clothing and accessories The Real McCoy’s makes boots and shoes with the same outstanding precision and quality.
The Real McCoys also carry the sub labels Buco and Joe McCoy.
