Tetsuya Shirakashi was a designer before becoming a bespoke bootmaker. When he first made bespoke shoes for himself, he was fascinated by how bespoke shoes are made and the culture around that craft. He learned the basics at a shoemaking school and studied with a few shoemakers in Tokyo.
He uses only the most traditional way of hand welting with selected hand tools.
