The founder of Shoes Bonanza, Teruaki Yoshida, feared that the Japanese shoe making culture and skills accumulated since 1915 would be lost because many workshops and factories moved abroad. He founded a shoe store in 1983 and even started activities to train craftsmanship keepers that would pass on skills to younger generations.
Teruaki Yoshida believes that it is impossible to replace good quality hand-made shoes with mass production. Shoes Bonanza strives to make the greatest shoes with Nagoya's shoe making traditions.
