Hailing from Nagoya, Japan, Hidetaka Fukaya studied the art of shoemaking in the city of Siena, Tuscany, and opened up his own atelier in central Florence in 2005.

He has an artistic approach to the craft, and makes 50-60 pairs of painstakingly well made, classic bespoke shoes per year. Prices start at 3000 € for the bespoke service. Il Micio is the name of his bespoke brand, and he makes ready-to-wear shoes for Tomorrowland and Tie Your Tie in Japan under the name Hidetaka Fukaya.
