In 1995, after finishing high school, Gerhard Thibaud decided to devote himself to the craft of shoemaking. For seven years he did a tour around France to learn the trade of a cobbeling and shoemaking. He worked in the different of sectors of the shoemaking industry and to get introduced to the different skills that made the trade. He worked as an apprentice at several small bespoke shoe makers and cobblers before crossing the canal to work at the John Lobb factory in Northampton, England.
2002 he started the company in his home region of Challans, offering the services of bespoke shoemaking and repairs.
