Angelo Gatto was born at Noto, the province of Syracuse. The son of Adele, tailor, and Salvatore, shoe-maker, he inherited from his mother the attention to the particularities and manual skills and the technique from his father. Only 15 years old, Angelo worked as an apprentice in the family workshop for his father.
Everything has remained like before, perfectly preserved: the same models, the same hides. In the historic shoe-making shop on the Salandra street even the furniture is the same that welcomes the clients of Gatto today and in previous ages: refined people with natural elegance.
