The Bowen history starts in the 19th century, when french shoemakers visited Northampton, wanting to produce a Goodyear welted collection for the fashionable Paris man. In 1998, Bowen started out a collaboration with Alfred Sargent Shoemakers in Northampton, and the combination of the craftsmanship and design has been a success ever since.
In 2012, Bowen bought a majority stake in the Alfred Sargent company, to help it out of economical difficulties. Today, a new Alfred Sargent collection has been developed together with Bowen, embodying the timeless elegance of English style and constant attention to detail that has always characterised the brand. The collaboration has since continued and Bowen keeps selling Alfred Sargent at their website, still keeping the old traditions and relations.
